Responsible for overseeing the financial management and operational functions. You'll report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will play a critical role in strategic decision-making, financial stability, and operational efficiency. This role also involves leading a small off-shore team to ensure effective financial planning, analysis, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: You will work alongside the CFO to maintain financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. A key part of your role will be monitoring financial metrics such as annual recurring revenue (ARR), gross margin on services, project profitability, and utilisation rates. You'll also be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with company policies and AASB standards. Additionally, you will support the consolidation of multiple entities with the corporate finance team and oversee the ERP and finance systems to ensure accurate data flow.
- Operational Efficiency: You are expected to develop and deliver management reports and dashboards to drive business performance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline business processes, and reduce costs. Lead initiatives to automate manual processes and integrate systems across billing, time capture, and general ledger functions.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control policies. You will partner with auditors during half-year and full-year audit cycles.
- Financial Analysis and Decision Support: Provide financial analysis to senior management and departmental leaders to aid in strategic decision-making and resource allocation. This includes conducting financial modelling, scenario analysis, and preparing business cases and investment proposals.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a small team of finance and operations professionals, providing guidance and mentorship. This involves setting clear performance goals, providing regular feedback, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: You should have at least 7 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or operations management, with a track record of leadership and delivering results.
- Skills: Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis are required. You should also have a solid understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required.
